Mestre Doutor’s Project Capoeira and Brazilian Day Philadelphia will be putting on an exciting show tonight at alongside one of the world’s largest private art collections.

His ASCAB Capoeira group is no stranger to the Barnes Foundation, a fine arts, horticultural, and educational institution located in Logan Square, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: in past performances, they’ve been known to light up the Barnes crowd with the kind of energy only capoeira can give. In addition to featuring capoeira, the First Friday event will also have live music will be performed by Minas, a bossa nova group, while Cleonice Fonseca and Dendê Macêdo will present Afro-Brazilian dance and drumming. Gearing up for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Philadelphians looking to get a taste of Brazilian culture can’t miss this event.
