Help Support Project Bantu’s 8th Annual STARTTS Youth Capoeira Angola Encounter

When Mestre Roxinho founded the Capoeira Angola Cultural Centre Australia, a not-for-profit association in Sydney, the goal was to “introduce, preserve and develop Capoeira Angola and Afro-Brazilian culture in its entire traditional, ritualistic and contextual form in Australia.” Now, for the 8th time, the group is preparing for their 8th annual Youth Capoeira Angola Encounter this November, under the banner of Project Bantu.

According to Mestre Roxinho, “Project Bantu is a movement through the mind to understand who you are.” Per the group’s website, it’s a community project that reaches young people of Aboriginal or refugee backgrounds who may have been exposed to violence and other struggles. Project Bantu is celebrating its 10th year in Australia and is asking for your support in funding this important event—and specifically, to help bring Mestre Augusto Januario from Brazil to Sydney.

Via Support the 8th STARTTS Youth Capoeira Angola Encounter on the official website of Project Bantu: > Project Bantu uses Afro-Brazilian culture and the practice of Capoeira Angola as a therapeutic intervention and, after just ten years in Australia, has been making such positive impact in the lives of the participants.

Please visit the Youth Capoeira Angola Encounter fundraising page and consider donating to Project Bantu’s event so that they may continue to do great work for the youth in their community.
